Today we introduce you to Kelvin “Giggs” Ncube one of our Project Officers. Kelvin is a key staff member who children will not miss an opportunity to interact with due to his likeable character. He is well acquainted and experienced in HIV/AIDS and Child Protection matters. Kelvin has led HIV/AIDS projects at a district level when he worked as the Head of Programmes with Matabeleland AIDS Council (MAC). Take a look at some of Giggs’ photos in action.
Introducing staff – Douglas Musiringofa (Director)
Over the next week we will introduce you to some of our staff members and volunteers behind the great work you see. Today, we will introduce to our Director, Douglas Musiringofa also the Co-Founder of UNICA. He leads a team of 5 staff members and a network of more than 50 volunteers.
Douglas is a passionate community development practitioner and has led implementation of huge projects which include construction/renovation of 30 classroom blocks in primary schools in Hwange rural district, supporting capacity building among youth, psycho social support projects and the construction of a much needed children and youth centre in Sizinda, Victoria Falls. UNICA features in “8 to five heroes”
This week, UNICA features in yet another exciting video entitled “8 to five heroes”. This video illustrates how much efforts people working between formal hours 8am to 5pm make great differences in their communities. The video was compiled by Vusumuzi Moyo one of the greatest young talented film makers in Victoria Falls. He has taken sometime to document and share with the world how small efforts done during formal working hours may change the world. Please take a few minutes and watch the video:
